Chocolate Treats for FHE or Valentine’s Day
Since its February and the month of Valentine’s Day, love, and chocolate (at least for lots of people I know), here’s the link to a fast fudge recipe, chocolate “bliss balls” (at the end of the post), and Tina’s Signature Chocolate Ice Shake (yum!!!).
Enjoy!

Great Picture-Based FHEs
For a fun and different family home evening, go to Pinterest.com and search “Jesus Smiling”. Parents should pre-check all the pictures because when I did this, some ads for underclothes were among the pictures! Search the pictures and select about 5-10 to open in separate tabs. Then ask your family to look at the pictures, describe how each one makes them feel, and then share which were their favorites and why. It’s fun to see different pictures of Jesus than you’re used to, especially ones where He looks happy and smiling!
Same idea but use Liz Lemon Swindle’s pins here.
Here’s a YouTube video showing Mark Mabry’s Reflections of Christ photo book (one of my very favorites!) sung to “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing”. Check out this video and the pictures and then get the book here!
Favorite Picture Books to Get
The Gospel Art Book – This is a wonderful church resource that I use in every lesson of FHEasy.
Reflections of Christ by Mark Mabry – When I want to feel close to Christ quickly, I open this book. It brings me joy and gratitude and hope immediately, every single time. My two favorite pictures in this book are Joy (Jesus and John right after Jesus’ baptism) and Healing (Jesus healing a blind man). Can you imagine how amazing it would be to be blind, be healed, and the first thing you see is Jesus’ face?

If I Listen with My Heart I Hear the Savior’s Voice published by Covenant Communications – This book follows the song by the same name with lovely art work. My favorites include Joseph Smith with kids and Christ with kids. Here’s a youtube video of the song with some pictures that are nice (they are not the same pictures as are in the book I’m recommending).
In Closing…
Happy Home Evenings!
