Families are built on marriages, which are comprised of two individuals. The health and happiness habits (or lack thereof) of each person as an individual highly influences the quality of connection and happiness in a marriage. Combine each person’s individual health and happiness skills with basic skills and principles for creating wonderful relationships, and a happier marriage is within reach.
I am a health coach and work with people specifically on their health and happiness habits, working toward developing habits that feed and sustain physical energy and emotional well being. However, if someone is particularly interested in improving their marriage connection, we can absolutely focus on that at the same time! It’s a powerful combination to work on yourself as you focus on your marriage. Self-care is an essential ingredient in my marriage, and I personally believe nurturing my health and happiness has improved my marriage more than reading and applying most of the many marriage books I’ve read.
